Star Wars the Old Republic was released in 2011 and was dubbed "The WoW Killer" by many. However, some saw it fell flat. I've been keeping an eye on it since launch playing off and on. It's a game that I hate to love and love to hate. I absolutely love Star Wars and the feeling it gives me to play it. But I also think it falls flat and has some major holes it needs to fill before I start playing every day.
SWTOR uses a panel/modal system for the bulk of it's UI. It seems that every time I return to SWTOR something improves. This time, it was the Galaxy Map. The new Galaxy Map blew me away with the new visuals. Aside from the Galaxy Map, much of the UI is standard from launch. A lot of it has that 2011 feel. The UI uses many shades of blue with splashes of color to indicate some sort of special screen (like Yellow for Cartel screens).
