Fable Fortunes is a digital card game set in the Fable universe. Since Fable is one of my favorite franchises, I decided to give the game a go and see how it is.
Overall, I can see how the game could be fun and challenging to master. However, I think the game feels a bit clunky with awkward loading screens and inconsistent interactions. The interactions in a digital card game is, in my opinion, one of the things that set a "good" card game from a "great" card game. What I mean by this is how you play your cards and abilities. In Hearthstone, everything you do is clicking and dragging. You click and drag cards, hero powers, and stuff like that. In Gwent, everything is clicking. Click to queue up a card and click to place. In Fable Fortunes, it felt like a mix of sometimes I had to click and drag (like the hero power) while other times needing to click to queue.
In my brief time playing Fable Fortunes, I thought it was actually a beautiful game with fairly deep mechanics and choices that make each game different. I look forward to playing it again!
