Bastion is a single player isometric RPG-ish Adventure game. Commonly praised for having some of the best narration in history, the UI helps tell the story of Bastion while making sure not to overly complicate the game.
One thing I like about the UI in Bastion is the artsy style to it. The most commons places for this artsy style is in the main menu with all the wood and paper. But even when you're in the armory or distillery, the background is 'The Kid' doing something that tells the story of that menu. It's laid out cleanly and puts the usability before the art.
One thing I didn't like about the UI in Bastion is switching Spirits can be a little back-and-forth-y. If you are trying to remember what spirit you have equipped you have to go out to the menu, see the spirit you have, go back in, and remember what you have so you can compare to the other spirits there.
